Dr. Jordi Casas is a transportation modelling expert and R&D leader with more than 30 years of experience in traffic simulation, AI driven mobility modelling, and large scale research programme execution. He earned his MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and contributed to the development of Aimsun’s modelling technologies beginning in 1993, later serving as the company’s R&D Director until October 2025.

He has led major European and Australian research initiatives focused on multimodal simulation, dynamic assignment, real time demand estimation, and Connected and Automated Vehicles, and has authored numerous peer reviewed publications in the field. Dr. Casas is currently a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) ACF11 committee and previously served on ACP80.

Dr. Alexandre Torday is an executive leader in mobility forecasting and intelligent transport systems with more than 20 years of global experience delivering complex transport projects worldwide. He has led landmark initiatives including large scale city and regional traffic models and major infrastructure impact assessments such as the Sydney Light Rail, the transformation of Broadway in New York, and emirate wide transport planning in Abu Dhabi.

As former CEO of Aimsun, he led the integration of AI and digital twin technologies into mobility solutions and expanded the company’s operations across multiple continents. Holding a PhD in Civil Engineering from EPFL, Alexandre combines strong technical expertise with strategic vision to help cities and agencies implement data driven, future ready transportation systems. He is passionate about enabling sustainable mobility and meaningful industry transformation through innovation.
